A member of the American Watercolor Society, the Florida Watercolor Society and founder of the International Society of Experimental Artists, Maxine Masterfield is known for her innovative techniques in water-based paint and mixed media combinations. Both of her books "In Harmony with Nature" and "Painting the Spirit of Nature" (published in 1984 and 1990 respectively), deal with non-traditional materials such as cellophane and plastics to accentuate natural form in painting. Masterfield has been teaching her abstract naturalism worldwide since 1984. Her video, "Experimental Painting with Maxine Masterfield", can be purchased for US $32 at Studio 3.
