"Oaxacan Dancer" by Arlene Wright-Correll.
This is the first in a new series started by the artist in May of 2005. Approximately 25 years ago the artist was invited to holiday in Oaxaca, Mexico. She remembers the wonderful time she had with Bob and Nancy, especially one evening in a small cafe off the little plaza in Oaxaca. They enjoyed a festive evening and were entertained with a series of dances by the local young people. Though the artist never had a camera with her, she vividly remembers that whole holiday and especially that evening.
This is a watercolor painting on 9 x 12" 100% on 100% cotton watercolor canvas and done with Dr. PH Martin's Hydus watercolors.

This is a pointilism that I worked on through half of my senior year of high school. It was my first experience with colored pointilism- everything else I had done was strictly black and white. The picture I uploaded of it isn't the greatest. It won an award at the Iowa State Fair in 2005

A unique cave scene created by dropping Dr. Ph. Martin's red, blue and yellow hyrus paints onto wet Yupo brand paper. While still wet, I allowed the colors to blend a little and then covered it with a sheet of Glad Clingwrap. After it was dry, I pulled off the Clingwrap. I love the brilliant colors and the interesting shapes in this piece.
